Thanks in advance

As a longtime artist-bio writer, I have to agree with the points made here, particularly about quotes, narrative and specificity. The article "Why You Need a Rock-Star Bio" in our last e-newsletter applies these principles to bios for all professionals ; those interested in further thought on this topic will find it here: http://www.editorialemergency.com/content/view/478/76

Cary Baker is awesome and well worth listening to.
Baker also happens to be a very good writer, who can make a press release sound like a newspaper article.

One thing to keep in mind about having a third party writing stuff is that the other person will think of questions whose answers you take for granted.

Edit: For my own band, I ended up being so consistently dissatisfied with our bio that I deleted everything except a slogan and two press quotes, then put a music player on the page. These days, if someone's really curious, everything's online somewhere.
